Take the lead from your Bruddah George and DONT try to fight the flu. I was out sick on a Wednesday for the first time in over one year (no, vacations dont count) and as a result we had to postpone Blood Wrestling until May.
As I lay in bed Wednesday, shaking and sniveling, I gave careful thought on how I was to proceed. Show up, give 50% and be the Typhoid Mary of BaGG (or) spare us all the grief and trust in Damon, Shatter, Glitch, Davina, Tony and the staff to pull it off.
Pull it off indeed. Thanks to the BaGG staff and uninformed wrestlers who made it work.
I look forward to seeing you all this coming week in a non-infectious state and AGAIN:
You have my permission to skip a week (or two) if you are:
1) sick
2) in a bad mood (or)
3) In your 3rd trimester

I'll take door number two, Alex.
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 10:31 AM"2) in a bad mood "
This has been me all too often the last few months. I make it a point not to show up in a bad mood. I tried it a few times and it didn't work out. Poo. But this week is finding me in pretty high spirits, not sick, and most certainly not in my third, second, or first trimester. Woot.
Remember kids, emo is for Death Guild. -

I hear you. There are times that I'd rather people wonder "Where's Tomas?" than "Why is he such a sullen prick tonight?" -
-

Tue, April 22, 2008 - 2:14 PMExactly!

uhhhhhh....just saying ;-) -

Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 11:43 PMI think you mean, "then." -
-
Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 11:29 AMNo, Tomas meant what he said.
"Than" is used as either a comparative preposition or conjunction and in this case of "I'd rather... than ..." the usage is perfectly acceptable and applicable.
With all the grammatical and spelling errors on tribe, or any other casual, on-line forum, not to mention the examples of writers voice and poetic license, a copy editor could have a field day for forever and a day, and then some.
But we're not being paid as copy editors, or here to nit-pick our friends, peers and others, are we? We're here for the dissemination and distribution of ideas, information and opinions. Almost all of which can be deciphered without our pointing out minor errors or inconsistencies, or spending our time "correcting" each other. (Yeah, yeah... Pot, meet kettle.;)
Save the red pencil for composition class, would ya?. And even then, only use it if you're the teacher. Or at the very least, if you just can't help suggesting a correction, do it in PM, not in-thread. It's totally irrelevant to and distracting from the current conversation.

Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 2:02 PMMabye Brian was suggesting that people would ask both questions in that order. Therefore "then".
And therefore a big "Eat Me" as well. :oP -

Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 8:29 PMBrian was saying that's the only way what she had said would make sense. Brian wasn't actually suggesting that people would say those things in that order. Brian likes Tomas too much to say such things. Brian doesn't like Tomas enough to eat him. Besides, what would the wife say? -

Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 9:21 PMTomas thinks talking about oneself in the 3rd person is creepy.
Yes he certainly does. -

Re: I'll take door number two, Alex.
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 10:41 PM1) I merely cut and pasted what Tomas had written.
2) It has been a long time since I was at BaGG because I'm "jaded", constantly in a bad mood, and don't like to drive from Union City to SF on a Wednesday night after driving home from work in Berkeley. I usually get home around 6:30 pm and would have to turn around and leave again at 9 to make it to the city by 10 (considering the evening traffic). By the time I leave the club around 1:30 or 2 am, I get home around 3ish. I get up at 5:30 am to get ready for work on Thursday. Not worth it.
3) My job requires me to be at 100% think power. I cannot be hungover nor can I afford to make mistakes in legalities of the Mental Health side of healthcare. I can only come to BaGG any more when the next day is a holiday or I purposely take it off.
okay? -
